ICONCRAFT Elevates Thai Handicrafts, Extends Inspiration New Space Expansion: Pop-up Store Opens on 3rd Floor, Siam Paragon Increasing Accessibility for the New Generation, Making Contemporary Thai Crafts Easier to Experience for Lovers of Thainess
ICONCRAFT (ICONCRAFT), a space of inspiration and the largest source of creative crafts from Thai artisans, continues its commitment to propelling Local Heroes to Global Heroes, promoting contemporary Thai handicrafts to the international market. It extends the inspiration of Thai craftsmanship to a new area by opening a Pop-up Store under the concept “ICONCRAFT & FRIENDS,” a space where creativity meets generosity. It brings craft brands from across the country to reveal the charm of Thai artistry through a contemporary lens to the world, located on the 3rd Floor of Siam Paragon.
Over the past few years, ICONCRAFT has elevated Thai artistry to a global level by collaborating with artists, entrepreneurs, developers, and visionary creators who have dedicated their body, mind, and spirit to passing on Thai craftsmanship with love, passion, care, and sincerity. They have made Thai crafts contemporary, blending traditional wisdom with innovation and creativity, while transmitting opportunities and hope to communities nationwide. This reflects a joint commitment to building a sustainable future for Thai crafts. To further extend this project’s reach to the target audience—the new generation and tourists from around the world—ICONCRAFT is expanding its space by opening the “ICONCRAFT & FRIENDS” Pop-up Store at Siam Paragon. This serves as a platform to showcase the work of Thai artisans for people worldwide to admire. It has gathered a diverse and complete collection of contemporary Thai crafts for both Thai and international tourists and craft enthusiasts to shop for a full six months.
Under the main goal of presenting unique Thai crafts that reflect creativity and modernity, complete with practical functionality for daily life, and to elevate the image of Thai handicrafts into stylish everyday items and souvenirs for the modern lifestyle, the ICONCRAFT Pop-up Store on the 3rd Floor of Siam Paragon has curated products from young Thai artists, designers, and artisans from various regions across the country. The selection spans various categories, from home décor, jewelry, ceramics, tea, and coffee, to souvenirs that express Thai identity in a contemporary style. This includes products from: The SUPPORT Foundation of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, which continues local wisdom and promotes new-generation artisans; products from the Kamlangjai Project (Inspire Project) under the initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati, the Princess Rajasarinisiribajra Maha Vajiralongkorn; products from The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, which promotes and extends the beauty of Thai textiles; works from entrepreneurs supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Interior, and the SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (SACICT); as well as collaborative projects from leading universities nationwide. A VELA café will also enrich the creative atmosphere, imbuing it with inspiration and offering visitors a new experience to delightfully immerse themselves in Thai crafts. The space is divided into the following zones:
- THE CRAFT ASSOCIATE Zone: Reveals the charm of highly creative crafts that build upon Thai textiles with modern innovation under the theme “THE HERO SHOWCASE.” The concepts include “Sustainable Icons” and “Heritage Jewelry,” which tell stories through new perspectives from leading craft brands such as the SUPPORT Foundation, SIRIVANNAVARI Maison, Kamlangjai Project, The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, DoiTung, PAYA SHOP, Baan Chan Soma by Ajarn Weeratham Trakulngernthai, ISAN Cubism, and the Goldsmith Group.
- CRAFT EXHIBITION Zone: An exhibition that reflects the blend of local wisdom with future design, offering visitors the chance to immerse themselves in contemporary crafts, discover the stories behind each piece, and browse a carefully selected highlight product corner. A main highlight is “Isan Pop: Tot Ton Bon Din Pan” (Isan Pop: Lively Identity on Earthenware), a ceramics exhibition that reinterprets Hoop Taem Sin Sai (traditional Isan murals) from a contemporary angle, conveying the “Isan Pop” identity through figures sculpted in clay. This allows visitors to explore the identity and changes of the Isan region through sculptures that communicate the “self” of the modern era. Another point of interest is the exhibition from “ISAN CUBISM,” a ceramics brand that reinterprets Isan art—such as ลายขิด (Khid patterns), ฮูปแต้ม (Hoop Taem murals), and wooden Buddha statues—into contemporary designs, ensuring both the older generation appreciates the value and the younger generation can access it.
- TASTE OF THAI Zone: A space that gathers Thai entrepreneurs passionate about craft, from the source—such as coffee bean, cocoa, tea leaf, and honey farmers—to the transformation into contemporary lifestyle products. This aims to present the true taste of Thainess, stories of inspiration, and works that reflect Thai identity in every detail, including products from Roast8ry, GRAPH, SIAS Koffee Roaster, Siamaya Chocolate, CHAR, Araksa, Chimthai, etc.
- MODERN THAI SOUVENIR Zone: Collects Thai souvenir collections that have been reinterpreted to be contemporary, vibrant, stylish, and full of creativity. Every piece reflects Thai culture from a new perspective, perfectly blending tradition and modernity.
