The journey of two creators, Rolf von Bueren, founder of LAdV, and Gu Hailong, founder and creative director of GORDON GU, began amid the vast grasslands of Mongolia. Surrounded by an atmosphere of friendship, they discovered the beauty of art that is simple yet powerful.
That experience became a key inspiration that shaped the next chapter of LAdV. Their journey then continued to studios and galleries in Beijing, where conversations with local artists and creatives sparked the idea of “weaving together” perspectives from East and West, past and present, to redefine home décor beyond traditional boundaries.
The Convergence of Two Philosophies of Luxury in the Perfect Setting
Creations from the LAdV atelier draw inspiration from nature and local cultures, expressed through meticulously handcrafted jewelry, home décor, and accessories. Natural materials such as beetle wings, seashells, coconut shells, rare woods, bamboo, ebony, and teak roots are carefully transformed by master artisans into distinctive works of art. These creations are further elevated with some of the world’s finest gemstones, including Golconda diamonds, emeralds from Zambia and Afghanistan, Ceylon sapphires and tsavorites from East Africa, Brazilian tourmalines, Baltic amber, Persian turquoise, and rare Basra pearls.
